CUSTOM RHINESTONE T-SHIRTS Hotfix-Applied in Our Own Factory

Star Faith International manufactures rhinestone t-shirts for UK streetwear and going-out-wear brands using genuine hotfix application, where stones are bonded under heat and pressure rather than glued on by hand. The hotfix press sits in the same facility in Sialkot, Punjab as our cutting tables and sewing lines, so stone density, layout and wash-fastness are controlled against your approved sample and repeated across the full run. Minimum order: 50 pieces per design, per colourway.

Why Application Method Matters on a Rhinestone Tee

A large share of cheap rhinestone tees use glue-on application, where stones are hand-set with fabric glue. Glue-set stones look identical to hotfix on day one and start dropping off within a handful of washes, because glue degrades with heat and agitation in a way a proper hotfix bond does not.

The difference is not visible in a product photo. It only shows after the third or fourth wash, which is when a customer complaint reaches your inbox. The most useful question a UK buyer can ask any rhinestone supplier is whether the stones are hotfix or glue-applied, and whether they can show a washed sample rather than a fresh one.

How Hotfix Application Works

Each stone carries a heat-activated adhesive backing. A hotfix press applies controlled heat and pressure through the motif, curing the adhesive into the fabric fibres rather than leaving it sitting on top. Done correctly, the bond is mechanical as well as chemical, which is what survives a washing machine.

Exploring Your Options

Rhinestones are one route to a sparkly, premium graphic, but not the only one. If your artwork is more detailed or colourful than a stone layout can reproduce, DTF printing is worth comparing, and we will say so at the quoting stage if another method suits your design better.

Why Fabric Weight Matters More on a Tee

A t-shirt is thinner than a fleece hoodie, so it has less body to carry the weight of a stone layout and to withstand the heat of the press. On lightweight jerseys, a dense motif can drag the neckline or hem out of shape and the press can leave a shine mark around the edge of the design. We recommend a heavier 200 to 240 GSM cotton tee for rhinestone work, and we flag stone density against fabric weight at quoting stage rather than after sampling.

Stone Grade

Rhinestones vary in facet quality, coating consistency and how well the coating survives washing. We specify stone grade at quoting stage rather than defaulting to the cheapest, because a dull or discoloured stone after a few washes is a fault a customer will notice even if the placement is perfect.

Why Brands Choose Our Acid Wash Hoodies

How We Build a Rhinestone T-Shirt

1. Artwork and Motif Tooling

Your design is converted into a stone-placement template. For repeat or bulk motifs this means a physical tool that positions every stone identically, while low-volume artwork can be set manually against a marked template. We confirm which route your design needs before quoting, since it affects both price and consistency across the run.

2. Stone Selection

Stone size, colour and grade are chosen against your reference artwork and the base tee colour. Mixed-size layouts, with larger feature stones and smaller fill stones, are common on gradient or shaded designs.

3. Hotfix Sample

A physical sample is pressed and wash-tested before bulk production, not just presented fresh off the press. This is the step that proves the application will hold, and the step cut-rate suppliers most often skip.

4. Bulk Application

Once the sample is approved, the motif is pressed across the full run using the same heat, pressure and dwell-time settings recorded at sampling stage, so stone adhesion is consistent from the first piece to the last.

5. Three-Stage Quality Check and Dispatch

Fabric is inspected before cutting, stone placement and press quality are checked in-line, and every garment gets a stone-adhesion check before packing. Orders ship to the UK on DDP terms, meaning import duty and VAT are settled before your shipment arrives, or on FOB terms if you would rather clear customs through your own forwarder.

Choosing the Silhouette and Pairing Rhinestones With Other Finishes

Rhinestone placement reads differently on each tee shape. A boxy t-shirt gives a wide chest and back panel for large motifs, while a cropped t-shirt suits a smaller, more focused design. If you are planning the same effect across a wider range, our rhinestone hoodies use the same hotfix process on a heavier garment.

Rhinestones are often combined with another finish, and sequencing matters. Print is completed first, since the heat of the stone press can distort ink that has not fully cured. A DTG printed t-shirt graphic with stones set around it, or a puff print t-shirt lettering with rhinestone outlining, are both common builds. Embroidery is stitched first and stones are set around it afterwards.

Washed finishes follow the same rule. A vintage washed t-shirt base is washed before rhinestone application, never after, since drum washing will strip stones regardless of application method.

Private Label and Retail-Ready Finishing

If you are building your own tee range, our private label service covers woven neck labels and hang tags and custom packaging, all added before dispatch without changing the standard minimum order, so garments arrive ready to sell.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do rhinestones fall off a t-shirt in the wash?

Not when they are hotfix-applied and heat-cured correctly. Loose stones after a few washes are almost always a symptom of glue-set application, which is why we wash-test the sample before bulk production rather than approving it fresh off the press.

Hotfix stones carry a heat-activated adhesive that is pressed and cured into the fabric, creating a bond that partially fuses with the weave. Glue-on stones are hand-set with fabric glue, which looks identical when new but degrades with washing and heat far faster.

They can, but lightweight jerseys have less body to carry the stones and withstand the press. A dense motif can pull the neckline or hem out of shape. We recommend a heavier 200 to 240 GSM cotton tee and flag stone density against fabric weight at the quoting stage.

50 pieces per design, per colourway, roughly a quarter of the 200 or more piece minimum most trading agencies quote UK brands.

12 to 18 working days after sample approval. Motif tooling for a new design is completed before that window starts, at the artwork and sampling stage.

Yes. Send reference artwork or clear photographs and we will build a placement template and stone-size breakdown to match it. Exact stone colour is confirmed against a swatch or Pantone reference at sampling stage.

Yes, and it is a common combination. Print and embroidery are completed first, with rhinestones applied last so the heat press does not affect uncured ink or stitching.

Yes, with standard care: inside out, cold or warm wash, avoiding high-heat tumble drying. We can supply washed reference samples so you can see real wear performance before committing to bulk.
